The students have been focusing on the main elements in the stories they've been reading; Such as, identifying the problem and how it's solved. This is helping them create their own realistic fiction stories during writing workshop. Recently, the weather has been warm enough so they can even choose to read outside the classroom in the courtyard.
Grace came for a visit to read a very funny story about Howard B. Wigglebottom. Grace is a second grader in Mrs. Caldwell's class this year and she was in my class last year! Thanks for the visit, Grace and for sharing a wonderful story with our class! :)
The children created beautiful winter cards for the elderly. The cards will be delivered to residents through the Meals on Wheels program.
We've been learning about how the behavior of many different animals change during the winter season. They enjoyed painting an animal and answering this question......Does the animal hibernate, migrate or adapt?
