The children created beautiful spring cards for the elderly. The cards were delivered to residents through the Meals on Wheels Program.
The children had fun getting their hands dirty as they planted flower seeds into pots that they had painted. The children enjoyed searching for eggs in the courtyard. The eggs were filled with scrambled spelling words that they had to put together and then include in a sentence. The students have been focusing on the main elements in the stories they've been reading; Such as, identifying the problem and how it's solved. This is helping them create their own realistic fiction stories during writing workshop. Recently, the weather has been warm enough so they can even choose to read outside the classroom in the courtyard. |
